Two Vehicle Accident This Morning In Bath

There was a two vehicle accident on 415 in Bath this morning in the 9am hour.  It was a cattle truck and at least one car.  There was at least one person with a non life threatening injury and emergency medical responders were at the scene.   

  

Another School Bus Accident Is In The News Today

There was a school bus accident this morning at 730am in the Town of Genesee, Pennsylvania.  Scanner audio indicates that the bus driver said, there were 35 students on board the bus, there was at least one injury: a female student with a cut on her arm.  At one point, the bus was on it’s side with fuel leaking.  However, all students were able to evacuate the bus successfully. 

 

The County To Vote On Hybrid Vehicles Training 

Steuben County Manager Jack Wheeler says, the county legislature will on Monday, vote on putting funds towards paying for law enforcement and fire fighters to take courses on how to operate both hybrid and electric cars.  County Manager Wheeler also says, the county has a driver diversion program where people with a first time speeding ticket can take a safety class to avoid having to pay a fine in court.  Wheeler says there is a fee for the class, but he also says, the county does have funds available for this.

 

Lots Going On In Steuben County On Saturday

Saturday is Farm Trail Day in Steuben County.  Cornell Cooperative Extension says, people will be touring farms in Bath, Campbell, Savona, Avoca, Prattsburgh, Corning, Hornell and Lindley.  Also on Saturday, the annual Strong Kids/Safe Kids event, will be taking place from Noon to 3:00, at the Steuben County Fairgrounds in Bath.  The Strong Kids/Safe Kids event, will have popular carnival games, inflatable bouncers and art activities for kids up to sixth grade.
