Shooting In The Overnight Hours In Elmira 

Elmira Police say there was a shooting at 1am this morning and that 20 shots were fired.  A 17 year old male was hit twice in the stomach with bullets.  He’s said to have non-life threatening injuries.  Police are looking for a suspect. 

 

Gillibrand: There Very Well Could Be A Gov't Shutdown

Democrat Senator Kirsten Gillibrand says she thinks there very likely could be a government shutdown.  "I know Senator Schumer is working very hard, trying to work with the speaker on a plan," Senator Gillibrand said.  "Schumer is obviously working with Senator Mitch McConnell.  So I'm just hoping that Senator Schumer will prevail with House Speaker Kevin McCarthy."    

 

Langworthy To Hold A Telephone Town Hall Tonight

Republican Congressman Nick Langworthy is holding a telephone town hall tonight with voters across the district.  That is scheduled for 7:30pm.   (Editors note: The town hall was postponed, because Rep. Langworthy was called back to the House of Representatives.)

There’s a new Siena College poll out which says the big issues for New York State residents are crime, affordable housing and the migrants coming in to the state.
