Results Of Audit, Of Addison Central School District

A new audit out from New York State Comptroller Tom Dinapoli says the Addison School District has been skipping the bidding process when hiring outside professional services.  The comptroller says one example of this is, the Addison Central School officials have been using the same construction company they’ve had since 2004.  The school responded by saying they’re going to modify their policy on this issue. 

 

The Steuben County Opiod Report For June, 2023

The Steuben County Public Health Department put out their report on opiods.  In June 42 overdoses were reported. One overdose was fatal, and narcan was used by officials 12 times.  Public Health Director Darlene Smith says, “We are now halfway through the year and are trending above 2022’s reports in overdoses and fatalities. “  Smith also says, other reported substances included prescription drugs, methamphetamines, marijuana, alcohol and others.  

 

Elmira Man Charged With Stealing Car In Horseheads

State Police charged a 38 year old Elmira man with 2nd degree Burglary and 2nd degree Grand Larceny, after the suspect allegedly broke into a place in Horseheads, stole car keys, and then stole a 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander.  The Outlanders was recovered and the suspect was sent to Chemung County Jail, $25,000 bail. Elmira City Police Department assisted troopers with this investigation.
