Chemung County Man Facing Drug Charges In Steuben Co

A Pine City man was arrested last night over in Canisteo.  Canisteo Village Police Chief Kyle Amidon reports that Zachary Savage, 24, is said to have fled on foot, when Canisteo Police pulled him over, Thursday night.  Police say Savage was quickly located in a nearby backyard, and refused to cooperate with law enforcement.  The Canisteo Police Chief also states that Savage attempted to dispose of the drugs on him, but was allegedly found to be in possession of crack cocaine, methamphetamines and a large amount of cash.  State Police and the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office assisted in this case. 
 

State Budget Update 

A tentative deal has been worked out, on the budget by Governor hochul and the state senate and assembly leaders…what we know so far is that minimum wage will be going up to 16 dollars an hour in this part of the state…the governor also says, on bail reform, that judges will have the ability to hold suspects.  There have not been any Republican lawmaker statements yet, except that Corning Republican Assemblyman Phil Palmesano says, the GOP members of the state legislature have not seen the budget yet. 

 

On The Agenda For Monday Morning In Bath

The Steuben County Legislature’s Public Safety Committee meets Monday morning.  On the agenda, they’ll be talking about renewing some of the School Resource Officer Agreements.
