Two Arrests Made In Burglary Cases In Steuben County

Last week, Sheriff Jim Allard appeared on WVIN’s Community Focus with Dave Taylor Smith, talking about the increase in burglaries, in Steuben County.  The sheriff says since then, deputies have made two arrests.  The sheriff also continues to encourage those that do not have porch cameras, to purchase one and install it on your property.  

 

Public Telecommunications Week In Steuben County

The Steuben County Legislature has declared this week, public telecommunications week and county legislative chair Scott Van Etten is honoring 9-1-1 dispatchers and the other dispatchers for their contributions for the great work they do.  Van Etten says, their contributions in the work of apprehending criminals, treatment of patients in emergency situations and their work in reporting fires to fire departments, is invaluable.  

 

Langworthy Calls China "Bullies", Schumer Calls For Russia To Release A Wall Street Journal Reporter Being Held  

Republican Congressman Nick Langworthy says, China is a bully.  "Their tactics won’t deter America from supporting Taiwan," Langworthy stated in a recent post.  At the same time, Democrat Senator Chuck Schumer says Russia should release Wall Street Journal Reporter Evan Gershkovich, who Schumer says, is wrongly being charged with espionage.  Schumer says he strongly condemns the wrongful detention of Gershkovich and Schumer says, “I demand the release of this internationally known and respected journalist.”
