Fatal Fire Yesterday In Bath

There was a fatal fire in Bath on Thursday.  According to the Corning Leader, the fire was a house fire on Bonny Hill Rd in Bath, and the name of the deceased is being withheld from the media, pending family notification. 

 

County Continues Investigating Two Local Fires From Wed.

Steuben County Emergency Services fire investigator Ed Fitzpatrick tells WVIN News that the cause of the fires in Kanona and Bath, two days ago, are still under investigation.   On Wednesday, there was a grass fire on Nipher Road in Kanona and a structure fire at a mobile home on Emerson Road in Bath.  There were numerous fire departments at both fires Wednesday.  

 

Big Flats Suspect Facing Weapons Charges

Troopers charged a 43 year old Big Flats man, with Grand Larceny in the Third Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon.  New York State Police say he was also found to be in possession of a loaded rifle in his vehicle during the investigation.  The Big Flats suspect is in Chemung County Jail, $5,000 bail.

Village of Bath Police Department’s K9 Bud has received donation of body armor for K9 Bud. It’s a bullet proof and stab proof vest for the Bath Police Dog.  They monetary donation was given to the Bath Police Department by a Massachusetts company called Vested Interest in K9s.
