A New State Dept Of Ed Mandate

Governor Kathy Hochul announced today that the state education department is going to check on school districts throughout the state to make sure that students are getting a proper education about the Holocaust.

Labor Day Drinking And Driving Message From The Sheriff

Sheriff Jim Allard says with Labor Day coming up, remember to plan ahead and be sure to avoid drinking and driving.  The sheriff says, there are many alternatives to driving under the influence to get people home safely after partying on Labor Day.

 

Early Morning Accident In Bath

Troopers say that there was a two vehicle accident in Bath this morning in the 5am hour, that was on Route 53, one of the driver’s was a 41 year old Shortsville man, no word yet on who the other driver was, there were no injuries and no one was charged. 

 

It Was A Close Call For Three Drivers On Tuesday In Erwin

There was a three car accident yesterday afternoon in the 2:00 hour in the Town of Erwin.  That was at Chatfield Drive Extension in Erwin, no one was injured, no charges against any of the three drivers.  The drivers were from Beaver Dams, Elmira and Corning.

 

Elmira Man Facing A Serious Charge
State Police also report that a 21 year old Elmira man, Michael Williams, is accused of 3rd degree rape for allegedly sexually taking advantage of an underage female teenager who was physically helpless.  Williams was remanded to jail, $1,000 bail.
