Sticker Store Lawsuits Coming Up In Court

Appearing recently on WVIN's Community Focus, Bath Village Mayor Michael Sweet said that Bath is going to court soon, on hopes of shutting down sticker stores.  "We are the only community in New York State, that's not only complained, but that's actually filed litigation to attempt to have the legal system shut these sticker stores down," Sweet told David Taylor Smith.  "That process is playing out right now."  Sweet did not elaborate as to whether the lawsuits were in village, county or state courts.  

 

A New Surcharge?

There is a new surcharge on small businesses in New York State, an employment insurance surcharge, based on the number of employees a business has.  Assemblyman Phil Palmesano explains that the state has just sent out the bills to businesses with this new surcharge on it.  According to Palmesano, he along with Senator O'Mara and others, tried to convince the governor and Albany Democrat state legislators to use the federal covid surplus money instead of passing the costs along to small businesses.  Palmesano maintains that fell on deaf ears.

 

Car Seat Check Event To Be Held Next Week

The Steuben County Fair starts next week, it starts on August 15th, and on Thursday the 18th, the Steuben County Sheriff’s Department will be having a car seat check event, from 10am to 2pm that day.  You can call Steuben County’s Sgt. Sorge, for more info about this, at 607-622-3911.  

 

Bills Fullback Reggie Gilliam Signs Another Deal W Bills

Buffalo Bills Fullback Reggie Gilliam signed a two-year extension on Sunday and is now under contract with The Buffalo Bills, through the 2024 season.
