Meyers RV Is Expanding 
Mayor Michael Sweet says, Meyers RV in Bath is buying the old Kmart Plaza in Bath.  "I understand they've also bought the old Chemung Canal Bank location there as well," Sweet tells Wvin News.  "They're going to expand their operations.  They'll build a road between the KMart location and the top of the hill.  We're estatic about it."  

 

Harassment Charges, Local Accident Reports 

State Police in Bath, report that there were two people ticketed for harassment in the Town of Urbana.  State Police also say, there was an accident yesterday in the Town of Erwin.  Two drivers in their 40’s, from Painted Post and Beaver Dams, were involved in that accident, there were no injuries reported and there have been no charges reported as of yet.  

Sheriff's July 2022 Statistics 

Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard says, there was one DWI last month, and  27 car crashes.  Deputies also handled five death investigations, four assault investigations, five burglary investigations, two robbery investigations, one animal abuse investigation, seven grand larceny investigations, six larceny investigations, two drug investigations, two child endangerment investigations, six harassment investigations, seven fire investigations, six criminal mischief investigations, six criminal contempt investigations and one fraud investigation.  There were domestic dispute incident investigations along with crash investigations, and mental health detainments.  The sheriff also says there was an increase in burglary and larceny cases of four wheelers and trailers over the previous months. 

 

Save The Beef Cattle?

State police in Niagara County report that an animal rights activist is accused of grand larceny of cows.  The 35 year old woman is said to have taken cows that were on the loose, to her farm, to protect them from being slaughtered.  Troopers were able to hold the suspect on bail, they say the suspect would not return the cows to the farmer who owns them.
