No History Regents Tests This Year 

In a letter released Tuesday, state Education Commissioner Betty Rosa wrote that officials “determined there is content on the new Regents Examination in United States History and Government that has the potential to compound student trauma caused by the recent violence in Buffalo.”  So no history Regent exams, they were going to be June 1, but now, they’re not going to be taking them at all.

Inmate Assault At The County Jail

Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard reports that deputies arrested 33 year Shane Wood, of West Morris Street, Bath, following a report of an assault in the Steuben County Jail.  It is alleged that Mr. Wood, a current inmate, caused serious physical injury to another prisoner.  The victim required medical treatment outside the jail facility and was treated and returned to the jail.  Wood was charged with 2^nd degree Assault.
