Construction Work Is Coming Up On I-86 - Mon, March 21st

Starting Monday, construction work will be taking place on I86 between Exit 36, Avoca, and Exit 37, Kanona, officials say that there will be single lane traffic on I-86 in that area, until November.

The New York State Gov’t Is Using County Sales Tax $$$  

According to Steuben County Manager Jack Wheeler says, state government, meaning the governor, and the state senate and assembly leaders, have been taking away county sales tax money, for the past two years.  Wheeler says, the state has been using sales tax money that was intended for county government use, in order to pay for AIM funding to cities and villages, and to pay into the distressed hospitals state fund.  “The New York State Legislature and the governor have been intercepting sales tax money,” Wheeler told Wvin News, “to pay for state programs.”  The good news is, according to Wheeler, Governor Kathy Hochul has put a stop to using money for AIM, but the governor still uses sales tax revenue for the fiscally distressed hospital funds. 

Sen. Schumer: We Won’t Stop Fighting Until We Win

Senator Chuck Schumer says, the cost of prescription drugs has gotten out of control, especially for seniors on fixed incomes.  Schumer says that he won’t stop fighting on this until he wins.  “The cost of prescription drugs has gotten completely out of control, especially for seniors who are on fixed incomes and tight budgets,” Schumer said. “I thank AARP for calling attention to this issue and will continue working with them to make affordable prescription drugs a reality. We won’t stop fighting until we win.”

A Recent Poll Has Zeldin Ahead In The Race For Governor

A new Zogby Poll out, shows that Republican Candidate for Governor Lee Zeldin is a point ahead of Governor Kathy Hochul.  The poll also shows Zeldin is 31 points ahead of all other Republicans in the race for governor.
