Village Election 2022 – Results From Tuesday March 15 Voting

Bath Village Mayor Michael Sweet was re-elected, Sweet got 67 votes, and in the Bath Village Trustee races, Melanie Coots and Mark Bardeen both won, Melanie Coots 75 votes, and Mark Bardeen 74 votes.   

Hammondsport Village election results: Village Trustees Leah Butler and Robert Kleckner were re-elected last night, Leah Butler received 96 votes, and Robert Kleckner - 118 votes.  Mary Jane Bray did not win, coming in third, with 85 votes. 

In Savona, the two trustee victories, Jessica Stevens and the incumbent Christopher McCann were elected.  No numbers yet there for those races, Wvin News is hearing that the numbers will likely be released on Friday.    

Fire In Woodhull

A fire on Tuesday afternoon, destroyed a race car shop owned by Jerred Dennis.   According to Woodhull Town planning board member Kenny Schupp, there were no injuries or fatalities, but the race car shop suffered massive fire damage.  Schupp also noted that many in the Woodhull community came out to help during and after the fire. 

Palmesano To Read A Book About Agriculture, To Steuben Co Second Graders

Corning Republican Assemblyman Phil Palmesano will be reading a book called “Farmer Will Allen And The Growing Table” to second graders in classrooms throughout Steuben County.  This is being done to celebrate Agriculture Literacy Week.

Climate Action Council Update

State Senator Tom O’Mara says the state’s Climate Action Council released a schedule for 10 public hearings on a plan that New York State residents will be able to submit official public comment on…you can find out more this website: climate.ny.gov

Sen. Schumer: $200 Million Coming To The Rochester-Finger Lakes Area  

Senator Chuck Schumer says that he’s proud to deliver $200 million dollars to the Rochester-Finger Lakes Region, as a result of the recent budget agreement.  Schumer says, this is big news and lots of jobs for the region.
