SUNY CCC, Guthrie, Arnot Health forge partnership
Guthrie and Arnot Health healthcare systems have teamed up with SUNY Corning Community College to provide Certified Nurse Aides (CNA) and Patient Care Partner training for newly hired employees. Guthrie’s pre-requisites for this role require past experience in such work, completion of a Nursing Fundamentals Course from a college nursing curriculum or completion of a training program. By partnering with SUNY Corning Community College, Guthrie is able to hire those interested in a career in healthcare who otherwise do not have the experience, education or training, into a Patient Care Partner role. The training program spans four weeks, with three weeks in classroom and skills lab and one week in conducting onsite clinical training. Tuition for the program is covered by the hospital systems and employees are paid their hourly salary while attending training.
