Veterans Day Events

Local Events:

 

Bath:

A Veteran's Day ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Pulteney Square Park near the Steuben County Courthouse.  At 1 p.m., the Mansfield University Brass Bandk will perform a Veterans Day Concert at the Bath VA Medical Center.

 

 

Corning: 

Volunteers will begin setting up around 5 p.m. Monday at Veterans Memorial Park on Park Avenue.  The public is encouraged to stop by the tent and creat a luminary for a veteran.  Beginning at 11 p.m., the luminary bags will be set up around Veterans Memorial Park and lit.  Local veterans will stand guard around the monument from 11 p.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday, when the ceremony will begin.  After the ceremony the Legion will make its annual Veterans Day donation at 1 p.m.  At 4 p.m., the VFW will host a free Veterans Day Dinner for all veterans, law enforcement officers, correctional officers, firefighters, and emergency medical resonders.  

 

 

Elmira:

The annual Veterans Day Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. in Wisner Park.  A memorial service will follow at noon at Woodlawn National Cemetery.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Veterans Day Discounts:

 

Applebee's:

Applebee's is again offering a free meal to military veterans and active-duty service members on Veterans Day.  There will be 7 entrees to choose from, beverage and gratuity not included.  Military ID or proof of service required.

 

Bob Evans:

Free all you can eat hotcakes Tuesday.  For active-duty military and veterans with ID or proof of service.

 

Chili's:

Chili's is offering all military veterans past and present their choice of one of 7 meals during the dinner hour, or any lunch combo during lunch on Tuesday.  Offer only available at participating Chili's in the U.S. only.  Dine-in from limited men only; beverages and gratuity not included.  Veterans and active-duty military simply show proof of service.

Corning Museum of Glass:

CMOG is offering free admission to all veterans through Tuesday. 

 

Crystal Cleaners:

Bring a two-piece suit with your DD214 or veterans organization membership card to Crystal Cleaners in Painted Post during November.

 

Denny's:

Free Build Your Own Grand Slam on Tuesday from 5 a.m. to noon for all active, inactive, and retired military personnel.  Participating locations only.  Please call ahead.

 

Dormann Library:

Enjoy a free cup of coffee Monday and Wednesday through Saturday at the Dormann Library in Bath.

 

Elmira Jackals:

Get tickets to the November 14th Jackals game agains the Evansville Icemen, which will also include a salute to veterans at First Arena.  For tickets and more information, visit Ziff Lawn Firm in Elmira.

 

Friendly's:

Free breakfast, lunch, or dinner Tuesday.  Breakfast offering is a free Big Two Do breakfast, which includes includes coffee and the choice between French Toast, buttermilk pancakes, or regular toast along with bacon or sausage links, and some eggs.  Lunch or dinner includes an All-American Burger served with fries and beverage.  Offer available for active military and veterans with ID or discharge papers.  Participating locations only.

Olive Garden:

Free entree Tuesday.  Offer good for veterans and active-duty military; proof of service required.

 

Texas Roadhouse:

Free lunch event Tuesday to honor the men and women of our armed forces.  Choose from one of 10 free meals, plus sides and a drink.  Offer good for all veterans - including all active, retired, or former U.S. military.  ID required.  Dine-in only.  Call ahead to verify times and locations.

 

TGI Friday's:

Free lunch for all current military members and veterans from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday.  Valid ID or proof of service required.  Dine-in only at participating locations.  Be sure to contact your TGI Friday's location for details.

Tops Markets:

Receive 11 percent off your grocery bill on Veterans Day at local Tops Market locations.  Please bring proof of service that you, or an immediate family member are a U.S. veteran, active duty, reserve, or retired military  personnel.

 

Red Robin:

Free Red's Tavern Double and Bottomless Steak Fries for all Red Robin guests with military ID or proof of service on Tuesday.
