Wayland To Get $75K For Flood Prevention

Wayland Village Hall is getting $75,000 through the state's Storm Sewer System Mapping program, to perform a comprehensive stream corridor study of Mill Creek to address flooding and streambank erosion. The study will identify locations to improve streambank stabilization and repair failing culverts. 

 

Canisteo Gets Their Federal Emergency Management $

The FEMA money requested as a result of the August 2024 came in to Canisteo recently.  Canisteo Town Supervisor Joe Harrington is publicly thanking Assemblyman Joe Sempolinski (R, Canisteo) and Congressman Nick Langworthy (R, 23).

 

Accident  Tuesday Afternoon In Tuscarora

State Troopers are reporting that there was a tractor trailer accident at the intersection of Stead School Road and Gibson Road in Tuscarora.  That was yesterday afternoon in the 2:00 hour.  State Police say they cleared the roads in that area of traffic because it was so slippery there from the ice yesterday.

 

Gillibrand: This Book Is Well Worth Reading

US Senator Kirsten Gillibrand says, there is a new book out by a 9/11 volunteer first responder whom she knows, named John Feal.  Feal’s book is called “I Will Follow You Everywhere.”  It’s about how Feal went from being an injured  construction worker to an activist working to get health care for 9/11 survivors.
