Phillips Lighting Location, Cleanup Work Continues

Steuben County Industrial Development Agency Director Jamie Johnson tells our news department at WVIN, that the work going on at the old Phillips Lighting site in Bath, should be finished in the fall.  "Signify, which is the current version of Phillips Lighting, is still managing the cleanup of the site," Johnson said this morning.  "There is work underway right now to remove the cement slab and some of the asphalt, to perform final cleanup measures on soils underneath.  The hope is that they'll have that work completed by October," Johnson stated.  

 

Addison Central Closer To Choosing A New Superintendent

Addison Central School is having a meet and greet of the school superintendent candidate finalists.  That will be on Thursday of next week, June 13, 6pm-7pm in the school cafeteria.  Sadly, former Addison School Superintendent, Joe DioGuardi died March 29.

 

The Farm Tours Continue In Prattsburgh This Week

Hundreds of school children in Steuben County are visiting the Damin family dairy farm this week in Prattsburgh.   These farm tours are being put on by the Steuben County Cornell Cooperative Extension’s Agriculture in the Classroom program. 

 

Update On Arkport-Canaseraga's Boys Baseball Team 

The Arkport Canaseraga boys varsity baseball team is in the Class D semi-finals tomorrow.  Arkport Canaseraga’s in Binghamton, tomorrow afternoon, taking on Chapel Field Christian at 1pm.
