Allard: Goats Injured By Loose Dogs In The Town of Caton

From The Sheriff:   Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard reports that on June 3, 2024, Investigators of the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office arrested Christine S. Shepherd, age 51, of Sloan Road, Caton, New York, following an investigation of reported attacks upon livestock by two dogs running at large.  It is alleged that Ms. Shepherd did not follow a court order directing her to secure her dogs, and that the dogs then caused damage and injury to livestock in Caton.  Ms. Shepherd was charged with Criminal Contempt in the Second Degree, Reckless Endangerment of Property and Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree.  Ms. Shepherd was arraigned in the Centralized Arraignment Court and released.   (The Livestock Were Reportedly Goats) 

 

A Bad Accident In The Village Of Canisteo Last Night

There was an accident in Canisteo in the 9:00pm hour on Monday night.  Canisteo Police Sgt. Giglio tells us that a 38 year old Canisteo woman was hit by a truck and went under the truck.  That was on West Main Street in the Village of Canisteo.  There was no word on her condition at this point, though we do know she underwent surgery late last night/early this morning, at Strong Memorial Hospital.  The driver was not injured.  No charges at this point are being made, and the investigation continues.  Canisteo Police were assisted by Canisteo Ambulance, Hornell Fire/Ambulance and State Police.  Also the Steuben County Sheriff's Office handled reconstruction of the accident. 

 

Ontario County Man Charged After Yates Co Incident

The Yates County Sheriff’s Department reports that a 37 year old Ontario County man, is accused of displaying a knife and smashing the car window of, a driver in the Yates County Town of Potter.  The 29 year old is charged with 3rd degree criminal mischief, 2nd degree menacing and 2nd degree harassment.

 

So Tier Small Biz Workshop In Watkins Glen Next Week

Officials from Senator Kirsten Gillibrand’s Office will be holding a small business workshop.  That’ll be Thursday of next week, June 13th, 10:30am-12:30pm, at the Seneca Lakes Event Center in Watkins Glen.
