An Airplane Catches FIre In Hornell Today 

Hornell Fire Chief Frank Brzowski tells WVIN News that a plane caught on fire today, while taxiing on the runway, at the Hornell Airport.  According to the fire chief, it was about to take off, when it caught on fire.  There were two people inside the plane, both of whom were gotten out safely by firefighters. There were no injuries.   Firefighters got the fire under control, the plane was heavily damaged, the airport was not.  The situation was handled by the Hornell and Arkport Fire Departments. 

 

Congressman Nick Langworthy Is Visiting Elmira College

Congressman Nick Langworthy is in Chemung County today, talking about his pro-law enforcement legislative efforts as well as Chemung County Sheriff's Investigator Mike Theetge’s assault and recovery.  "This press conference serves as a platform to foster dialogue between government officials and law enforcement agencies on ways to strengthen support for those who serve and protect," Langworthy stated.  The congressman is also visiting Elmira College and speak to students in a political science class.

 

Troopers:  Arresting Drivers Who Don't Pay Thruway Tolls

State Police say that since March they’ve continued to crack down on drivers who hide and or deface their license plates, in order to get past toll booths, without paying.    Since March and the inception of a multi-agency task force, the New York State Police and partner agencies have continued to crack down on motorists who break the law by hiding or defacing their license plates to abscond tolls.

 

 

One More Breakfast Buffet Before Summer Hits

The Bath Volunteer Fire Department is having their final breakfast buffet of the season, that’s Sunday morning, 7am – 11am, at the Bath Fire Station on East Morris Street.
