Steuben County And The Reaction To The Eclipse 

Steuben County Manager Jack Wheeler says there were no major traffic issues yesterday here in Steuben County. Wheeler also says from talking with state officials he's hearing that those who travelled to see the eclipse from outside of the area went to the Adirondacks and Vermont.  Also, with the cloudy skies, was there much to see anyways?  Apparently not in Bath, Hornell and other places in Steuben County.  From what we've heard from people who went out to watch the eclipse on Monday, there were only brief moments when you could see the eclipse. 

 

Recent Courses Taken By Sheriff's Dept Officials

Sheriff Jim Allard says Sergeant Day and Investigator Brown recently attended an FBI SWAT Leadership training with members of the Elmira Police SWAT Team in Virginia.  The sheriff also says Officers  Palmer, McDaniels, Teeter, and Montgomery-Willis recently graduated from the Basic Course for Corrections Officers.

 

Congressional Primaries Are Coming Up On June 25

The Steuben County Elections Office says, there is a primary on June 25, and on that day, there might be a primary for the US Senate seat against Senator Gillibrand from New York City based Democrat Khaled (ku-leed) Salem.  Also on June 25, there might be a primary for the 24th Congressional District between Republican Claudia Tenney and Ontario County Republican Mario Fratto.   Wayland, Dansvile, Cohocton, Avoca, Pulteney and Prattsbrugh will be in that 24th Congressional District after November.
