Local Eclipse Plans For Monday, April 8

There will be a number of eclipse events at Keuka Lake on Monday.  Corning Community College Is having an Eclipse Open House, Monday :30-4:00pm at the college’s Digital Dome. It’s free and they say to take note that they only have 1500 glasses. You are welcome to bring your own glasses.  On the topic of those special glasses, St James Hospital CEO Wendy Disbrow gave a reminder this morning, to be sure to wear the proper eyewear.  "They're called 12312-2 Cerftified," and Disbrow said, you can get more info about them on the NYS Department of Health website.   
 

As far as local schools go, Bath and Prattsburgh schools are off all day Monday.  Hammondsport is dismissing students at 1130am Monday.   Avoca is dismissing students at 1145am Monday.   Campbell Savona is dismissing secondary school students at 1130am and Campbell Savona is dismissing elementary students at 1155am.

Bath Mayor Michael Sweet says the old abandoned tourist information booth on the corner of Liberty and East Washington Streets, should be torn down by the end of the day.  

 

Bath Compost Site To Open Saturday, April 6, 2024

The Bath Compost Site opens tomorrow, hours are 9am-3pm.  The compost site will be open Saturdays 9:00-3:00 from tomorrow through November 9th

 

Allard: The Assocation Of Sheriffs Mailer 

Sheriff Jim Allard says, if you have received a mailer from the NYS Association of Sheriff’s, that’s a legitimate mailer!  The Sheriff is asking people to join in and support the sheriff’s institute as they have a summer camp for disadvantaged children and offer scholarships to them as well.
