Road Work In Campbell Is Going On, Until Monday Morning

The NYS DOT is working on I-86 east between Exits 41 and 42 in the town of Campbell.  They say that that part of I-86 is expected to reopen on Monday, by 7 a.m.

 

Promising Gateway Act 2023

Democrat U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand is working to get a law passed to get the Food and Drug Administration to get treatments approved more quickly, for those with rare diseases.  Gillibrand’s bill is called the Promising Gateway Act.  She says it's bipartisan legislation to expedite provisional FDA approval of drugs intended to treat ALS, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, and other life-threatening diseases. 
The standard FDA approval process takes years to get drugs to market," said Gililbrand.  "But patients with rapidly progressing illnesses often don’t have years to wait. The Promising Pathway Act would create a provisional approval pathway and help get promising treatments to those who need them."   

 

Langworthy Is Supporting New House Speaker

Republican Congressman Nick Langworthy says, he likes the new House Speaker, Mike Johnson of Louisiana.  Langworthy says he’s supporting Johnson.  Senate Majority Leader Democrat Chuck Schumer says, he’s hoping to work with House Speaker Johnson to avoid a government shutdown.

State Senator Tom O’Mara says the State Police are still taking job applications for those who want to become a state trooper.
