Two Men In Bath Are Facing Meth Charges

Bath Village Police Chief Colin Taft reports that after Bath Police executed a search warrant, a large amount of meth was found inside an apartment at 5 Lackawanna Street.  Shannon Brockway, 54, Bath, was charged with 3rd degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.  Dominic Trentini, 55, Bath, was charged with 7th degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.  Police say Brockway was held, Trentini was ticketed and released.

 

Sheriff Allard: Two Welfare Fraud Cases In Bath

Sheriff Jim Allard says there’s two welfare fraud cases in Bath.  One suspect’s accused of getting $42.00 they were not entitled to, by using someone else’s EBT card.  The other suspect is accused of the same kind of thing, but it’s unknown how much money is involved in that case.

 

New York State Electric And Gas Utiltity Bills: Going Up 

The New York State Public Service Commission approved a 61 percent rate increase for NYSEG customers.  More than one source is saying that the Public Service Commission was going to make it a 120 percent increase on utility bills for NYSEG customers, but Governor Kathy Hochul got them to make it a 61 percent rate increase, half of what the PSC wanted originally for NYSEG.  The governor put out a statement right away, saying that she got $400 million dollars in the state budget to help NYSEG customers out, because she knew this was coming.  A A R P put out a statement too, saying they supported the governor for fighting this increase, and A A R P was against the Public Service Commission raising utlitiy bills as much as they are though, for NYSEG customers.

 

Tenney And Langworthy: Finger Lakes Legislation

Republican Congresswoman Claudia Tenney wants to get the Finger Lakes named a National Heritage Area, this is legislation is being supported by Congressman Nick Langworthy.   “Spanning from Cayuga County to Livingston County, the Finger Lakes region boast a wealth of cultural heritage and natural beauty, making it a fitting candidate for designation as a National Heritage Area,” said Congresswoman Tenney. “Securing this designation for the Finger Lakes will promote economic growth through tourism all while ensuring that the region’s rich history and stories are preserved for future generations to come.
