More Info Out, About The Friday Fire In Bath

The Bath Volunteer Fire Department put out a statement about that House fire on Friday in Bath.  The fire was at 29 Delaware Avenue, no people were injured in that fire but several pets died.  There was also heavy smoke damage.   The Bath Volunteer Fire Departments also reports that there were two accidents on I-86 over the weekend, which Bath volunteers responded to.      

 

29 Yr Old Hornell Man Dies In Chemung Co Train Accident

A Hornell man who had just gotten a job in Big Flats, was hit and killed by a train while walking to work in Chemung County on Saturday.  That’s according to the Chemung County Sheriff’s Department.  Officials say Timothy Galusha was listening to something on earbuds while walking on the train tracks, at the time he was struck by the train.  It was explained by the sheriff's dept. that it's believed that Galusha did not see or hear it coming.  The Norfolk Southern Train conductor was said to have sounded the horn and applied the brakes, but unfortunately, Galusha did not get out of the way in time.  Timothy Galusha, was 29 years old. 

 

New York State Officials And The War In Israel 

Governor Kathy Hochul is working with airports and the Israeli Embassy to help out with that situation as much as possible.  The Wall Street Journal reports that Democrat U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer spoke with CIA officials on Saturday and that Schumer said he’s vowing to "do everything he can to help Israel."  Democerat  Senator Kirsten Gillibrand says she was "horrified by the scenes out of Israel and strongly condemns the Hamas attacks."  Republican Congressman Nick Langworthy says that the House needs to, "quickly elect a new speaker so the house can act to aid our Ally, Israel."

 

O'Mara Praising The New LP Building Solutions Facility  

Republican State Senator Tom O’Mara is praising LP Building Solutions for their work on a new facility in Bath.  O’Mara says LP will receive its exterior home siding product at the new Bath facility via rail from its siding production mills.  "The material will then be painted, packaged and distributed via LP’s existing network throughout the Northeast and beyond," O'Mara stated.
