Calling Hours/Funeral Services Are Today For William Hawk

Calling hours for former Bath Fire Chief Bill Hawk, will be held at Fagan's Funeral Home, this afternoon from 1:00-3:00 pm with a memorial service at 3:00 pm.  After that, there’ll be a graveside service and burial in Grove Cemetery, Bath, NY. A reception will follow at the Bath Fire Hall.

 

Steuben Co Sheriff's Dept Seeking The Public's Help 

From Sheriff Jim Allard:   On October 3rd, 2023, Steuben County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a complaint in the Town of Rathbone. A resident reported an unusual incident that had allegedly taken place earlier in the day, in which two individuals purporting to represent law enforcement officers appeared at the residence to "seize weapons". After a brief conversation with the homeowner the individuals left the area. The Sheriff's Office has not received any similar complaints as of today's date. The individuals involved are alleged to have been operating a dark blue blue panel type van, with a sliding side door. The van had a white magnetic type star on the passenger side door. The complainant could provide no further description of the van. The individuals were described as wearing gray uniforms, with black stripes along the trouser leg. The uniforms appeared to have a fabric badge on the chest, and the individuals wore blue ball caps with a gold star emblem on the hat. The individuals are further described a 5'9" white male, with a stocky build, blue eyes, and a reddish color goatee. The second male is described as a tall black male, who was wearing an identical uniform and hat. The Steuben County Sheriff's Office is seeking the public's assistance with this investigation. Homecoming Week Is Coming Up In Bath 

School officials in Bath say that Bath’s homecoming week/ weekend is next week and weekend.  There’s going to be a fun run planned for Friday October 13th, as well as a student dance and pep assembly and several athletic competitions along with a fun spirit week, going on next week. 

Von Miller Is Getting Better

The Buffalo Bills report that Von Miller is officially back at Bills practice.  According to the Bill's website, Sean McDermott said Miller was at practice yesterday.  Miller's status for Sunday's game in London is to be determined and McDermott said the team is taking it "one day at a time" with their veteran pass rusher.

 

DOT Holds A Steuben County Flood Training Event 

Officials with the DOT say that over 200 members of the Department of Transportation, the Thruway Authority, the D.E.C. and homeland security, were at an interagency flood training event in Hornell recently.  They say that the training event lasted several days.
