Road Work Coming Up On Monday In Urbana

Eric Rose, the Steuben County Public Works Commissioner says that a section of the eastbound lane of County Route 76 in the Town of Urbana will be reduced to one lane from 7 am to 4 pm from Monday, July 24 through August 11.  Rose says, that will be between the Hammondsport village line and Sanford Road in order to replace a guardrail.

 

Drivers Who Get In DWI/DWAI Trouble, Are Under More Than One Influence, Says Steuben County Sheriff Allard

Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard says there’s been a big increase in impaired drivers, being under the influence of more than one chemical substance.  "The biggest increase we see in our impaired drivers is multi-drug use," Allard says.  "Where it's not just one thing, it's alcohol and marijuana.  It's alcohol and marijuana and fentanyl.  It's that combination, that multi-drug effect, which makes them that much more dangerous as a driver on the highway," said Allard.

Bath Village Mayor Michael Sweet is very happy about the new pickleball courts in Bath.  So how do you sign up to play?  On Facebook.   Sweet says there is a Bath Pickleball FB page, where you can read the rules and policies for pickleball in Bath and a schedule where you can sign up for times/dates to play.
