Numerous Injured In Yates County Accident Last Night

From The Yates County Sheriff's Dept:   

On July 4, 2023 at 20:54 Yates County Deputies responded with Penn Yan Fire, Penn Yan Ambulance, Office of Emergency Service, Yates County Ambulance and Dundee Ambulance to the report of a two-car motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Bath Rd and Second Milo Rd in the Town of Milo. Upon arrival it was discovered that multiple passengers had varying injuries, six of passengers were minors. Investigation into the crash showed that Mr. Cronin’s vehicle was allegedly eastbound on Second Milo Rd when he failed to stop for a stop sign and struck Mr. Bailey’s vehicle which caused Bailey’s vehicle to roll over before coming to rest. Further investigation revealed that alcohol was a contributing factor in the crash and Cronin was taken into custody for the above charges. All eight occupants of Bailey’s vehicle were transported to hospitals by multiple ambulances and helicopters to Soldiers and Sailors Hospital and Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment of their injuries.

 

Flags At Half-Staff Today, In Honor Of Ontario Co AIr Force Sgt, Who Died Recently In Arizona 

Governor Kathy Hochul has flags at half-staff at all State government buildings and facilities today and tomorrow, in honor of U.S. Air Force Staff Sergeant Kory Wade.  Wade was from the Ontario County town of Shortsville.  Staff Sgt Wade passed away following training exercises in Arizona, on June 14.   According to the Air Force Times website, he was found near Lake Roosevelt, Az.  

 

Congressman Nick Langworthy Was In Bath This Morning

This morning in the 10am and 11am hours, Congressman Nick Langworthy (R, NY23) stopped in to the Bath VA Medical Center.  "It's important that I go and visit the Bath VA," Langworthy tells WVIN.  "Very beautiful facility, they are providing great services for our veterans.  Coming off the 4th of July, where we all celebrate our amazing freedoms, it's an important reminder of the people that paid the sacrifice, and were and are wearing the uniform," Langworthy stated.    For the rest of the afternoon, the congressman will go to both Belmont (Allegany Co) and Olean (Cattaraugus Co) for Opiod Roundtables with law enforcement.
