The Old Parking Meter Poles Are Gone
Bath Mayor Michael Sweet says, Liberty Street looks "a million times better" with the old parking meter poles gone for good.  The mayor says, this will make snow removal much easier and he is thanking the street department for taking the old parking meter poles down.

 

More Swatting-School Threats 

More swatting threats against schools in New York State.  Governor Kathy Hochul says that yesterday, over 50 school districts across New York got 'swatting' threats in the southern tier, Central New York, Long Island and the northern part of New York State.  The same thing happened last Friday.  The governor says she has directed the New York State Police to investigate these threats and work closely with law enforcement to identify the perpetrators and hold them accountable. 

 

Changing One Part Of The Concealed Carry Law

Civil War Re-enactments, they do them in the Steuben County Town of Howard and in the Allegany County Town of Angelica.  The Niagara Gazette reports that the governor has been working to get it into the budget, amendments to change the part of the conceal carry law, so that civil war re-enactors can use muskets at civil war events. 

 

Sen. Schumer Visits Hornell

U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer was in Hornell Tuesday afternoon, taking a tour of Alstom there, with the US Transportation Under Secretary Carlos Monje Jr.  Schumer brought in several other transportation industry officials, to see the kind of work that’s done in Steuben County.  The senator emphasized the importance of American manufacturing and making products in the United States. 

 

A Major Change To The State Budget Is In The Works

Politico, NYFocus and EmpireReportNewYork.com are reporting that Governor Hochul wants to change the climate action plans in the budget, because the governor says, it would, if passed, make gasoline too expensive in New York state.  Click here to read more
