Election Day, Tuesday November 8, Is A Short Time Away

A week from today is Tuesday November 8th, election day.  Steuben County Election Commissioner Vicky Olin says, remember not to wear campaign buttons, hats or tee shirts, or have political bumper stickers in vehicles that are parked near your voting location.  Another thing to remember: have your cell phone off, and have your cell phone out of sight, if you bring it inside a polling place.  Remember that there are three props to vote on, on the back of the ballot, a statewide prop to spend just over $4 Billion dollars to protect natural resources and prevent climate change.  There is a countywide prop, about possibly increasing the amount of towns that county lawmakers will represent in the Bath and Hornell areas.  Then, there are three local props on the back of the ballot as well.  One in Caton about creating an appointed highway superintendents position instead of an elected one.  In Pulteney there is a Library Prop, requesting a funding increase.  There is also a prop in Jasper, about letting Jasper sell alcohol, as Jasper is a “dry” town.
