A Town Hall Is Happening In Bath Today

A Town Hall meeting on issues surrounding underage drinking is happening today, 11 am to 2 pm in Pulteney Square.  The event features a keynote speech “Consequences of Bad Decisions,” by Kimberly Clark and comments by Steuben County Sheriff James Allard and Steuben Prevention Coalition (SPC) Chairwoman, county Legislator Hilda Lando, (D-Corning City).  "Too many times have I had to tell a parent that their child is not coming home," Sheriff Allard said.  "Not neccesarily because the child was driving drunk, but because the child was riding with an intoxicating or impaired person," the sheriff stated.  "Impaired and intoxicated driving is still one of the number one cause of criminal deaths in our county."

Will There Be A Friday Night Football Game This Week?

The Haverling Rams varsity football team was all set to play against the Waterloo Indians Friday night.  However, according to Haverling Rams Coach Matt Ford, it turns out Waterloo does not have enough players.  "We learned Monday night that our opponent, Waterloo, does not have enough players that are eligible, so they (Waterloo) had to cancel our game on Friday," Ford told WVIN's David Taylor Smith this morning on Community Focus.  "Right now we're trying to schedule a last minute game with a Pennsylvania school," Ford said.  "I don't know if that's going to happen or not, our back up plan is that we're going to have a scrimmage on Saturday morning at 9am with Penn Yan, Dundee and Hornell."
