School Budget/School Board Voting Day Is Here

School Board school budget voting is going on now until 8:00 tonight at local schools.  In Bath, School board member Jennifer Yartym is running unopposed, and Olivia Krezenski will be running unopposed to fill the seat currently held by Mike Warren, who is not running again.  In Prattsburgh, there is one seat open and Terry Moore is running for that.  At Campbell- Savona school board candidates are: school board member Greg Cacase, who is seeking re-election, school board member Stacie van skiver who is running again, and Dale Seeley.  There are two seats available at Campbell Savona.   In Hammondsport, there is only one candidate for school board, William Goodrich running unopposed.  

 

Buffalo Shooting Victims Update

Buffalo area native Governor Kathy Hochul is with the president and Senators Schumer and Gillibrand, in Buffalo today.  The governor is also working towards getting social media companies to report it more quickly, when someone starts to post a violent manifesto online.  Congressman Lee Zeldin, is calling for Hochul to bring back the death penalty for this and other hate crime cases.


District Maps News 

Yesterday the new map master released the first drafts of both the state senate and congressional maps.  Officials say that the second drafts will come out later this week.  The counties listed in the first draft of the new congressional map shows, for the new 23rd district, Steuben, Chemung, Schuyler, Cattaragus, Chautauqua and parts of Erie County.  The new state senate map for this area, the 58th state senate district, shows the following counties: All of Steuben County, some of Allegany, including Alfred, West Almond, Almond, Wellsville, all of Chemung, Seneca, Tioga, Yates and Schuyler Counties.  The second draft will be out Friday.
