There Is A New Lt Governor For New York State

Governor Kathy Hochul has named as her new Lt Governor, Catskills area congressman Antonio Delagado.  Delagado is taking the place of former Lt Governor Brian Benjamin.  Benjamin resigned several weeks ago because he’s the subject of a federal investigation.  Upstate Republicans like State Senator Tom O’Mara are voicing their objections to Governor Kathy Hochul being able to change the rules, and get a new name on the ticket this close to the election.  The GOP argues that the rules were changed just to accommodate the governor, and no one else.

The State Teachers Union Really Likes Delagado

“Congressman Delgado is a dedicated ally of NYSUT members and working people, championing COVID-19 relief funding, the vital role of public education in our society and the public servants who dedicate themselves to bettering their communities. We congratulate him on his appointment and look forward to continuing to work with Gov. Hochul and her administration to support our public schools, colleges and hospitals as the center of every community.”
