Lt Governor Has Resigned

Lt Governor Brian Benjamin resigned Tuesday night, Governor Kathy Hochul says the resignation was effective immediately.  The governor says, that while the legal process plays out, it is clear to both, that he cannot continue to serve as Lieutenant Governor.  The governor says, New Yorkers deserve absolute confidence in their government, and she will continue working every day to deliver for them.  Brian Benjamin pleaded not guilty to the five corruption charges against him, Benjamin is accused of taking tens of thousands of dollars from a realtor who was a donor, and then using taxpayer money to pay the donor back.  


Update On The Genesee PA Fire

The fire that claimed the lives of five kids in Genesee Township, Potter County has been ruled accidental.  The fire happened early Monday on Slingerland Road in Genesee Township.  The parents are still at Strong.  Pennsylvania state police spokesperson Lauren Lesher says that three of their children, Raymond, Triston and Evan Erway died in the fire. Two 16-year-old Allegany County girls, Mikalah Roulo and Krysta Kane also died in the Monday fire in Genesee.


Beware Of A Particular Organization, Soliciting $$$

Corning Police Chief Jeff Spaulding is warning residents of a mail scam going around.  The police chief says there is an organization calling themselves "Citizens Behind the Badge” and according to the chief, it’s quite likely that the money this group is raising goes to outside the area, and he says, the money does not go to Corning Police.
