Mayor Sweet Thanks Supporters

Bath Village Mayor Mike Sweet put out the following statement this morning on FB:  “I want to thank everyone for your support. I do this for you - the taxpayers who believe Bath can be great once again. I’m humbled to have this opportunity and for the next two years work side by side with some of the most dedicated public servants who all share the same goal of making Bath a better place to live, work, and raise a family. This will take lots of work and time but I feel we are moving in the right direction. Thanks!”

 

Hogan To Cuomo: Now Is Not The Time

Former Governor Andrew Cuomo is attempting to make a political comeback.  Some media outlets are reporting that Cuomo is even seriously considering having a primary against Governor Kathy Hochul.  Steuben County Democrat Chairman Shawn Hogan does not think that this is the right time for Cuomo.  Hogan tells WVIN News that it did not work for Andrew Cuomo when Cuomo attempted a primary against Carl McCall in 2002 in the governor’s race that year, something that Cuomo had to bow out of, due to a lack of interest. 

 

Assemblyman Giglio: Keep The Budget Fiscally Oriented

Assemblyman Joe Giglio says, the state budget should return to being strictly fiscal.  Giglio says, Governor Hochul’s budget proposal included a number of policy items, which the Assembly does not want in there.  The assembly reportedly stripped the policy issues that the governor wanted, from the assembly version of the budget.

 

Troopers Warn About Crime Organization In Western NY

State Troopers say, that a worldwide organized crime group has stolen a total of $3200 from Walmarts in Ontario County and Erie County.  State Police say, the scam goes like this: a member of the Crime Group goes into Walmarts, buys electronic items, and confuses the employee by fast talking and telling the cashier that he wants change in a different way.  The crime group is reportedly made up of males, they were seen driving away in a black Chrysler minivan.  Anyone with any info can call state police at 585-398-4100.
