The Search Continues For Missing Man From Savona

According to State Troopers and Steuben County Emergency Services Director Tim Marshall, the search continues for 79 year old Eugene Mattoon of Savona.  Matoon is five foot nine, thin, bald and has a white moustache, Matoon was last seen wearing a black leather jacket and blue jeans.  Anyone who knows anything about Eugene Mattoon’s current location, can call 607 962 6864.

From Steuben County Public Health: 55 new positive COVID tests have been reported since Friday's update. Sadly, 2 more residents have passed: a 68 year old man in Bath, and a 73 year old woman in Addison.

 

Update On Recovery From The February 22nd Fire In Wayland

WVIN News caught up with Wayland officials about their work to restore and repair the buildings that were damaged by fire on February 22nd.  Wayland Codes Officer Chuck Kagle says that the majority of the fire damage was on the second floor, and the first floor buildings, suffered mostly water damage.  Officials are waiting to hear back from both insurance companies and business owners, to see what the next step in the process will be.   

 

Ringing In Spring, At Hammondsport Central

Coming up at Hammondsport Central this Friday, staff and students will be dressing to “ring in spring”.  Special prizes will be given to students and staff by the elementary and high school student councils.
