Domestic Dispute Allegations In Addison

According to Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard, things got tense at a domestic dispute call in Addison.  33-year-old James Luce, was said to be in possession of a shotgun and is alleged to have made threats towards a police officer and someone else at the scene.  Luce was charged, arraigned and released.  

 

Reed Comments On The Court Case

The lawsuit regarding the state's new district maps, filed against Governor Kathy Hochul,  was in Steuben County Court Thursday.  Judge Pat McAllister said there will be another hearing on this, on March 14th.  Congressman Tom Reed who is not seeking re-election, his seat was changed on the new maps, and Reed weighed in on the court case.  “This is another step in what’s going to be a long journey,” Reed said.  “Dealing with the blatant gerrymandering and politicization of the map, coming out of Albany, that they’re using in Albany to protect Nancy Pelosi and the U.S. House majority that they have.  This is not going to be, in my opinion, going to be resolved before November.  I think this (the current map) will go forward, but this is something we’re going to be hearing about for the foreseeable future.” 

 

Covid Update

Steuben County Public Health, announced yesterday, that there are 50 new cases since Wednesday, in the county.

 

National Rifle Association Remains Intact

State Attorney General Leticia James’ attempts to break up the NRA, was rejected by a New York City judge.  The judge stated that dissolving the NRA would be going against a lot of people’s free speech rights.  The judge however, is allowing other legal claims against the NRA to go forward.
