County Health & CCC Providing Free Rapid COVID Tests This Week
The Steuben County Public Health Department is partnering with Corning Community College to provide free COVID-19 rapid testing at the Corning Community College Health Education Center (HEC).  Testing will be available each day this week.  The Education Center is located at 132 Denison Parkway East in Corning.  Participants should park in the building’s lot off Chemung Street. Testing is free and open to Steuben County residents.  Participants must pre-register in order to be tested.

 

Steuben Sees 2 More COVID Deaths & 58 New Cases 
COVID-19 has claimed the lives of two more Steuben County residents while infecting 58 others. The COVID death toll in Steuben is now at 106. Both individuals were male residents of the Fred and Harriett Taylor Health Center in Bath. Meanwhile, the latest infections bring the total to 2,041 confirmed cases, 330 of which are currently active. 

 

Buffalo Bills Play Tonight on WABH
The Buffalo Bills return to the national spotlight on Monday Night Football tonight. The 8-3 Bills will play the 5-6 San Francisco 49ers tonight. Because of COVID, the game will be played at State Farm Stadium – the home of the Arizona Cardinals. Game time is 8:15 on 1380 AM WABH & 100.3FM!

 

Hornell Men Arrested After Traffic Stop on 390
Two Hornell men face drug-related charges following a traffic stop on Interstate 390, according to the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office. It is reported about 3:40 p.m. on Friday Nov. 27th,  a deputy stopped a vehicle for an alleged violation of the state Vehicle and Traffic Law and the driver identified as Travis J. Carlton, 22, of Hornell. The deputy suspected drug activity in the vehicle and that Carlton was under the influence of drugs. A drug investigation was conducted which included the performance of standardized field sobriety tests. Carlton was taken into custody for driving while ability impaired due to drugs. The passenger, Brendan J. Seger, 20, of Hornell, was found to be in possession of about 34 grams of marijuana. Carlton was charged with DWAI by drugs.

 

Today is 79th Anniversary of Pearl Harbor
Today marks the 79th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor. The ongoing pandemic has changed ceremonies planned to remember the historic event. The community is encouraged to Remember Pearl Harbor at home. This day 79 years ago at 12:55 p.m. was the exact time of the attack.
