55 new COVID-19 cases in Steuben County
The Steuben County Public Health Department received notification that 55 Steuben County residents have tested positive for COVID-19 since Thursday. This brings the total to 1,768 confirmed cases, 259 of which are currently active. 6 are residents of the Town of Bath and 3 are residents of the Village of Bath. One of the individuals is a student of the VEW Primary School in Bath.
Hammondsport trustees to meet in December
The Village of Hammondpsort’s board of trustees are scheduled to meet at 5 p.m. on December 1st at the village office, located on 18 Water Street. The meeting will be a workshop for the 2021-22 budget.
Man arrested on narcotics charges in Elmira
The Elmira Police Department arrested 38 year old Tim Gullo Friday afternoon, after responding to the area of Decker Place and Davis Street around 3:40 p.m., after receiving reports of a man with a gun. They received a description of the vehicle and the suspect involved. After locating both, a search turned up a handgun replica BB gun, in addition to large quantities of meth, heroin, fentanyl, and materials used to package up narcotics. Mr. Gullo was charged with three counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree.
Governor Cuomo nominated for TIME’s ‘Person of the Year’
Governor Andrew Cuomo is one of 80 nominees to be TIME magazine’s ‘Person of the Year’. Per TIME magazine, the award honors “the person or group of people who had the greatest influence on the events of the year – for better or worse.”. Other nominees this year include President Trump, Dr. Fauci, and creators from the viral TikTok app.
Haverling Rams represented in Section V boys’ soccer all tournament teams
Section V has released their all-tournament teams for boys soccer this year. The hometown Haverling Rams were well represented this year, as junior Keefer Calkins, junior Cayden Mattison, junior DJ Smith, and senior Brendan Strong all received the honor.
