Keuka Watersports Coming to Bath’s Route 54 Plaza
The former Save-A-Lot and Super-Duper plaza on Route 54 in Bath has been purchased by Keuka Watersports. According to a post made by Mayor Mike Sweet’s official Facebook page, Keuka Watersports will renovate the building to accommodate a showroom for their Centurion line of boats. The fast-growing boating company sells, rents, and stores boats. Wegmans, Tops and Others Will Carry COVID Vaccine Once Available
The Trump Administration announced it will partner with several pharmacies in the Finger Lakes area to distribute the coronavirus vaccine as soon as possible once it becomes available state-wide. Pharmacies that will have the vaccine available include: Wegmans, Walgreens, Walmart, CVS, Tops Markets, and Rite Aid.

 

Steuben County Restoring Power Outages
Utility crews continue to make progress restoring power in Steuben County and throughout the region. A powerful wind storm swept across the area Sunday evening. The numbers in Steuben County have steadily declined, now totaling less than 250 customers. Chemung has less than 400 customers out while the number has dropped below 400 for Allegany. The National Weather Service clocked a peak wind gusts of 51 mph in Cohocton, 50 in Hartsville and 43 in Addison. NYSEG said the company today will conduct assessments and identify the extent of the damage caused by the weather event.

 

NYS Thruway Makes Switch to Cashless Tolling
As of 1am Saturday morning, cashless tolling is now live across the New York State Thruway. Though drivers will continue to go through the old tollbooths until they are removed next year, new cameras were installed capture license plate photos and E-Z Pass tags. Drivers are urged to use caution while driving through the tollbooths due to ongoing, active construction.

 

Bath VA Offers Veterans Counseling and Medication to Quit Cigarettes
With the Great American Smokeout underway this Thursday, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is encouraging Veterans to take the first step to improve their physical and mental health by combining cessation counseling with other VA clinical resources and support. Research shows behavioral counseling can significantly improve one’s chances of quitting smoking and combining counseling and medication works better than medication or counseling alone.

 

Hornell Man Arrested in Hornellsville
After an incident in the Town of Hornellsville, State Police arrested 24-year-old Sean Kellogg of Hornell. He was charged with felony criminal possession of a loaded firearm and two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance. He was released to a third party.

 

Bath Woman Arrested
State Police report the arrest of 39-year-old Deborah Vanetton of Bath. She was charged second-degree reckless endangerment and endangering the welfare of a child. She was issued an appearance ticket and released.

 

Avoca Man Arrested for Violation of Order of Protection
State Police arrested 48-year-old Donald Kennedy of Avoca. He was charged with criminal contempt for allegedly violating an order of protection. He was initially detained.

 

Arkport Man Arrested for Property Damage
Wayland-based Troopers arrested 22-year-old Alexander Houghtaling of Arkport. He was charged with felony criminal possession of stolen property valued in excess of $3,000. He was also charged with felony second-degree unauthorized use of a vehicle. He’ll answer the charges in Town of Wayland court at a later date.

 

Troopers Seek Help Finding Auburn Teen Brooke Irish
New York State Police need the public's help to find a teenager who went missing over a week ago on Sunday, November 8th. Troopers say 17-year-old Brooke Irish was last seen in the Town of Chenango. Brooke Irish lives in the Auburn area but was visiting family, who said that she's not familiar with the Chenango area and that her family doesn't believe she has friends there Brooke also doesn't have a cellphone in her possession. Irish is a 5'1” white female, who weighs approximately 120 lbs., with brown eyes and black shoulder-length hair. She was last seen wearing a black tank top with cropped leggings with plaid and cherries on them. It's also believed Brooke may not be wearing shoes. Anyone with information is asked to call the Binghamton barracks of the NYSP at (607)775-1241.
