Village of Bath Leaf Collection Starts Today
Today is the annual fall leaf collection for Village of Bath residents. All leaves must be raked or bagged and brought out to the curb for collection. Residents are asked to please place leaves between the sidewalk and street or edge of street, without covering storm drain grates. Crews will begin collecting leaves on the West Side of the village and work their way Eastward. No brush or trash will be accepted.


County Road 119 in Canisteo Closed Next Week
The County Road 119 bridge over the Canisteo River in the Town of Cameron will be closed to all traffic starting one week from now on Monday October 26th through October 30th. The five-day closure affects traffic between McMaster Road and County Route 10 in the Town of Cameron and will enable work on the new CR 119 bridge. Travelers are advised there will not be an onsite detour and to use existing town and county roads to detour the site.

NY Republican Party Call on Dems to Condemn Friday Protest in Ithaca
The NY Republican Party has called on Governor Cuomo and the New York’s Democratic leaders to condemn Friday’s protest in Ithaca. The protest, which was led by the Democrat Socialists of America’s Ithaca chapter, led to protestors overwhelming counter protesters rallying in support of President Trump, based on a video posted by the Tompkins County GOP Facebook they filmed from their office. They claim Ithaca Police took a half hour to respond to the 9-1-1 call and then directed traffic around the scene. Two women report injured, including a 60-year-old lady who suffered a dislocated shoulder. Tom Reed’s campaign called the incident “disgusting”.


Buffalo Bills Play Chiefs Tonight on WABH
The Buffalo Bills take the national stage for the second straight week, this time for a matchup with the reigning Super Bowl champions. It will be a meeting of two prolific offenses, headlined by quarterbacks Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes. Allen ranks second in the NFL in passing yards; Mahomes ranks fourth. The game will air nationally at 5 p.m. Both teams sport a 4-1 record.


New York Officially Begins Statewide Bag Ban
New York State begins fully-enforcing its ban on the distribution of plastic bags after the March 1st initial ban was stalled due to a lawsuit by the plastic bag industry held up the state’s enforcement. The lawsuit rejected by the New York State Supreme Court. It is estimated New York uses 23 billion plastic bags each year and that costs recycling facilities at least 1 million dollars a year in damage to equipment.
