Construction of VA Entrance to be Complete in January
Construction work around the Bath VA Medical Center’s front entrance originally planned for completion in late September is now expected to be completed in mid-January. The delay is due to additional, necessary work on the steel of the high-traffic bridge at the campus entrance. Steel is in the process of being ordered and replaced. Concrete repairs on the East side of the bridge have been completed, while half the bridge has been painted and storm sewer work on the campus is ongoing.  

 

Thurston to Host Rabies Clinic
The Town of Thurston will hold a free Rabies Clinic tomorrow evening from 6-8pm at the Town of Thurston Highway Department. Those who are vaccinating their pets must bring their previous vaccination records. Pets must be caged or restrained.

 

Friends Gala Fundraiser for Ira Davenport Set for November
The annual “Friends Gala” to support Ira Davenport and Taylor Health is set for Friday November 2nd 6pm at the Glenn Curtiss Museum. The event has been vital in providing significant financial contributions to help renovate server departments and purchase essential medical equipment for Ira Davenport and Taylor Health Center. The evening will be catered by the Main Place and have music provided by Niklite. Tickets are $80 and available by emailing kimsprague@arnothealth.org or calling (607) 776-8634. RSVPs are due by October 25th.

 

Mobile Mammography Center to Visit Bath
Steuben County Public Health officials urge women to participate in the Rochester Regional Health’s Mobile Mammography Center’s breast cancer screenings October 23rd from 10am to 3pm at the Steuben County Office Building in Bath. Screenings are available to everyone, regardless of insurance coverage. The center will provide 3-D mammography screenings from certified technologists and an evaluation of the results by board-certified radiologists. Screenings take an average of only 15 minutes. Vaccinations Provided by County Health This Afternoon
There will be an immunization clinic provided by Steuben County Public Health this afternoon from 1 to 3pm. Vaccines are available at the clinics for children and adults who are uninsured or those who have insurance that does not cover vaccines. Steuben County Women Holds Open House
Steuben County Women will be holding an Open House tonight to celebrate their 86th anniversary and the 100th year anniversary of NYS Women Inc. The event is tonight at the Finger Lakes SPCA in Bath from 5 to 7pm. Attendees will learn about the organization, its programs and opportunities as well as the other groups it works with and assists.
