Hornell Man Charged with DWI After Wayland Crash
After crashing his car into the front lawn of a Wayland home, a Hornell man was charged with Driving While Intoxicated. New York State Police say early Friday morning, 24-year-old Adam Hughes lost control of his car on Laf-A-Lot Road, causing him to crash down a 20-foot embankment and eventually stopping on a large pile of rocks. Troopers say they found Hughes asleep at the wheel but he was not hurt. The car was towed from the scene and Hughes was issued an appearance ticket for a later date.


Two Arrested For Drug Charges in Hornell
Two people face controlled substance charges, after methamphetamine was allegedly found in their vehicle in Hornell Friday evening. Sarah King, age 28, of Canisteo and 34-year-old Michael Stanaszak of Elmira were each charged with felony criminal sale and possession of a controlled substance. More than one ounce of prepackaged meth was found in the car as well as paraphernalia including packaging materials, a scale, a smoking device, syringe, and cash. Stanaszak and King are both being held pending arraignment.


Two Arrested for Drugs in Horseheads Traffic Stop
Two men from Schuyler County are under arrest on drug charges following a Horseheads traffic stop. According to police, methamphetamine and marijuana were found inside a vehicle occupied by 36-year-old Justin Brand of Montour Falls and 33-year-old Kyle Rogers of Watkins Glen. Both men are held at Chemung County Jail on $25,000 bail and were charged each with 3rd-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.


Utah Woman Arrested in Big Flats Drug Bust
A Utah woman has been arrested following a Big Flats drug bust. New York State Troopers said following a petit larceny complaint at TOPS, they found stolen property and several bags of cocaine inside the vehicle of 23-year-old Jenevieve Francis of Salt Lake City, Utah. Francis was charged with 3rd-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and was sent to Chemung County Jail on $10,000 bail or $20,000 bond.


County Public Health Offers Immunization Clinic Tomorrow Evening
The next Steuben County Public Health immunization clinic is tomorrow from 4:30-6:30pm by appointment.
