Town Primaries Set for June 25th:

Republican primaries are set for 19 towns next Tuesday, June 25th.  Additionally, the Towns of Wayne and Canisteo will hold Conservative primaries.  Polls will be open from noon to 9 p.m.  There are no primaries for county elected officials and no primaries for other parties.  That means only registered Republicans or Conservatives will be able to vote on Tuesday.  And a reminder to employers: the June 25th Primary is the first time ever that employees will get paid time off to vote.  Per the changed law, employees can take up to three hours at the beginning or end of his or her shift as designated by the employer, unless otherwise mutually agreed.  The employee must notify their employer no less than two working days prior to the election.  Voters can check their status, poll site locations, and sample ballots online at https://www.steubencony.org/Pages.asp?PGID=19.  Anyone interested in becoming an elections inspector may call (607) 664-2240.
