Narcotics Arrest:


The Village of Bath Police Department announces the arrest of a Rochester teen on drug charges.  17-year-old Jahmere Davis is charged with criminal sale of a controlled substance, criminal possession of a controlled substance, and tampering with physical evidence.  He was sent to the Steuben County Jail with bail set at $10,000 cash. 



Bath Assessors Office Closing Early, Closed Monday:


The Town of Bath Assessors Office has announced that it will be closing early today, May 24th.  It will be closing at noon.  It will also be closed on Memorial Day, Monday, May 27th



Memorial Day Balloon Release in Hornell Cancelled:


The Memorial Day Balloon Release on the Broadway Mall in Hornell has been cancelled.  WLEA reports that family members of any veteran who has passed away since last Memorial Day will still be able to receive a red carnation and United States flag pin in their memory. 



NY Highway Work Halting for Memorial Day:


Governor Andrew Cuomo announced Thursday that temporary lane closures for road and bridge construction projects on New York State highways will be suspended from 6 a.m. today, May 24th to 6 a.m., Tuesday, May 28th to accommodate for increased travel throughout Memorial Day weekend.  Drivers should keep in mind that in some cases, road work may continue behind permanent concrete barriers or for emergency repairs.  Motorists are also reminded to abide by the state’s Move Over Law, and to utilize the 64 text stops located statewide as needed for texting, making calls, and other non-driving tasks. 



Roadwork on I-86 in Starts Tuesday:


The New York State Department of Transportation has announced that pavement work will be begin on Interstate 86 in both the eastbound and westbound directions between exits 34 and 35 from Hornell to Howard on Tuesday, May 28th.   One lane of traffic will be maintained at all times.  The work will take approximately one week, weather permitting.  Motorists should expect delays.
