Pair from Arkport Facing Drug Charges in Ontario County:


The Ontario County Sheriff’s Department reports that two people from Arkport have been arrested following a traffic stop in the Town of Farmington.  22-year-old Corrine Tierney and 28-year-old James Chapman were allegedly found in possession of 60 bags of fentanyl.  Both were sent to the Ontario County Jail on $5,000 bail each.



Canisteo Man Allegedly Broke Into Home, Stole Beer:


A Canisteo man has been arrested after he allegedly broke into a neighbor’s home and stole beer.  25-year-old John Kinne is currently charged with burglary, with more charges pending.  He was sent to the Steuben County Jail without bail.



Bail Set for 3 Suspects in Muslim Community Terror Plot:


Three of the four people arrested for allegedly plotting to attack a Southern Tier Muslim community have now had their bails set.  20-year-old Brian Colaneri of Gates, 18-year-old Andrew Crysel of East Rochester, 19-year-old Vincent Vetromile of Greece, and 16-year-old Nicholas Pheilshifter were arrested in January on charges of terrorism, weapons possession, and conspiracy for allegedly planning to bomb Islamberg, near Binghamton.  Colaneri, Crysel, and Vetromile have now had bail set at $250,000 each. 



Road Work on S.R. 54 Starting Today:


Weather permitting, work will begin today on a shoulder reconstruction project on State Route 54, approximately 2 miles north of the intersection with County Route 87 in the Town of Wayne.  Work is expected to be completed by the end of May.  Traffic will be maintained with one-lane, two-way traffic pattern controlled by temporary traffic signals.  Drivers should expect delays. 



Arnot Mall Restaurant Hit with Health Violations:


A restaurant at the Arnot Mall has been hit with several health violations following a recent inspection.  According to the Food Service Establishment Inspection Summary Report, five public health hazards and seven violations were found on April 16th at Hometown Teams BBQ.  The report also states that the violations were corrected.  Hometown Teams is owned by Andrew Sample.  Sample is currently facing unrelated charges of grand larceny for allegedly not paying the employees of his former restaurant Sample This BBQ, which has since closed.



Hydrant Flushing in Hammondsport:


The Village of Hammondsport will perform hydrant flushing today, April 29th, and tomorrow, April 30th.
