Bath Woman Arrested in Stabbing:


A Bath woman was been arrested following an incident in Bath involving multiple people.  State Police were called to the Holland American Hotel on State Route 415 on Sunday evening for a reported stabbing.  Their investigation found that during the altercation, one of the subjects suffered puncture wounds to the arm and was transported to Corning Hospital.  Arrested was 45-year-old Kelly Harris for assault and criminal possession of a weapon.  She was arraigned and sent to the Steuben County Jail without bail.



Tractor-Trailer Overturns on I-390 Monday:


Traffic was delayed on I-390 Monday morning after a tractor-trailer rolled over near the Town of Avoca.  The accident occurred around 3 a.m. just past Exit 1, just before I-390 North turns into I-86 East.  The I-390 North on-ramp at Exit 1 was shut down by police while the vehicle was uprighted.  There is no word at this time as to the cause of the accident or if there were any injuries.



Road Closures on I-86, Also in Corning Today:


The Department of Transportation has announced road closures for I-86 and in Corning today.  I-86, between Exit 33 Almond and Exit 34 Hornell will be closed between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. for paving up to the bridge that carries I-86 over County Route 65 and Norfolk Southern Railroad.  Motorists traveling eastbound will be detoured off the highway at Exit 33, travel 21 north to Hornell, then State Route 36 north to Exit 34 where they can return to I-86 east.  Motorists may encounter flaggers and lane shifts, and travel delays should be expected.  In Corning, the eastbound lane of East Pulteney Street, from Warren to Centerway, will be closed from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. for construction.  The westbound lane will remain open.



Straw Poll Vote for Arkport/Canaseraga Merger Today:


Voting will take place today for residents of the Arkport and Canaseraga school districts to decide the fate of a potential merger of the schools.  Polls are open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.  If both votes are positive, an official merger vote is expected November 12th.  Approval then would see the newly merged district go into effect on July 1st.  Failure of any ballots will end the proposal.    



Hearing Scheduled for Steuben Co. Wind Farm Project:


Public information forums and hearings regarding the Eight Point Wind project in Greenwood and West Union will be held on Wednesday, October 17th at Hornell City Hall.  The forums will start at 2 and 6 p.m., with the public statement hearings to follow at 3 and 7 p.m.
