Corning Man Arrested on Multiple Charges:

 

An investigation by the New York State Police has resulted in multiple charges against a Corning man.  On July 20th, troopers from the Bath barracks responded to a reported domestic incident in Bath and following their investigation, arrested 26-year-old Joshua Reedy on charges of burglary, criminal contempt, criminal obstruction of breathing, criminal mischief, and harassment.  Reedy is accused of entering the victim’s residence and repeatedly punching and choking her, in violation of a previous order of protection.  He was arraigned and sent to the Steuben County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail.

 

 

Avoca Man Arrested for Endangering Child:

 

The Steuben County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of an Avoca man following investigation into a reported domestic incident.  It’s alleged that 26-year-old Cody Mitchell acted in a manner likely to be injurious to the physical, mental, or moral welfare of a child less than seventeen years old, and that Mitchell subjected a child less seventeen to unlawful physical contact.  Mitchell has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child and aggravated harassment.  He was arraigned and sent to the Steuben County Jail.

 

 

Bristol Woman Accused of Failing to Report Income:

 

A Bristol woman has been arrested for allegedly failing to report income while receiving benefits from the Steuben County Department of Social Services.  36-year-old Julie Martz is charged with offering a false instrument for filing and grand larceny.  She was arraigned and released on her own recognizance.

 

 

Summer Rec Programs Available in Steuben Co.:

Some Cheese Ritz Cracker Products Recalled:

 

Some Ritz Cracker sandwiches and Ritz Bits products are being recalled over Salmonella concerns.  The voluntary recall includes the United States, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.  According to Mondelez Global, LLC, there have been no complaints of illness in connection with the products to date.  The concern is over whey powder that the company’s supplier recalled due to the potential presence of Salmonella.  Consumers with the products should not eat them, and are advised to discard them.  You can visit https://us.mondelezinternational.com/~/media/MondelezCorporate/us/uploads/downloads/press-releases/2018/Ritz-Recall-2108.pdf for more information.

 

 

Road Work on S.R. 54 in Bath/Hammondsport Starting Today:

 

A reminder for motorists today, paving work is set to begin on State Route 54 between C.R. 113 in the town of Bath and 54A in the town of Hammondsport.  Work is expected to last approximately 2 weeks, weather permitting.  Traffic will be maintained with one-lane, two-way traffic pattern controlled by flag persons.  Motorists should be prepared for potentially lengthy delays as single-lane operation may be up to two miles.
