County Health Highly Encourages Flu Shots for Vaccination Week
Steuben County Public Health urges locals to get vaccinated for the flu. December 3-9 is National Influenza Vaccination Week. Yearly flu shots offer the best protection against the virus and are highly recommended for young children, pregnant women, senior citizens and those with health problems such as heart and lung disease and diabetes. Two Hour Free Parking Available in Bath Village for One Month
The Bath Village Board has authorized Chief Chad Mullen to post Two Hour free parking in the Business District from this Monday December 4th to January 4th 2018. Free spaces to park on East William Street, Buell Street, Liberty Street, Steuben Street, and the Westside of West Pulteney Square will be marked clearly as Two Hour Parking. All other spaces will be enforced with usual parking penalties.

Bath Couple Jailed for Drug Charges
The Village of Bath Police Department report the arrest of a Bath couple for drug charges stemming from indictment warrants from this previous summer. Michelle M. Carmon was arrested and charged for two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance and 2 counts of Criminal Sale of Controlled Substance. Anthony Carmon was charged with one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance and one count of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance. Both were arraigned and remanded to the Steuben County Jail without bail.The investigated was completed with assistance from the Steuben County Drug Task Force.

Three Suspect Arrested in Howard Burglary
Three Steuben County residents were charged with 2nd degree Burglary after a call for suspicious activity. Kevin Scott of Canisteo and Bath residents Earle Robbins and Whittany Hale were alleged to be caught in the act of burglarizing a seasonal Howard home on Dublin Road. According to police, stolen items from the home were found inside a car reportedly used by the suspects. All three were sent to Steuben County Jail. Hale is held on $2,000 cash bail while Scott and Robbins will be held without bail.

NYSDEC Reminds Hunters of Tree Stand Safety After Accidents
The New York State Department of Conservation says that this fall, there have been four treestand-related deaths with hunters in Upstate New York as well as three other non-fatal tree stand accidents, all of which are currently under investigation by the DEC. Though none of these accidents occurred in Steuben County, the DEC is reminding hunters everywhere to check online for videos demonstrating proper tree stand use, familiarize themselves on the specifics of the tree stand they use and report tree stand accidents by calling 1-877-457-5680.

Bath Village Planning Board Meeting Set for Thursday
The Village of Bath Planning Board will hold a public hearing next week to consider two applications. The first seeks a special use permit for a law office at 113 East Steuben Street. The second also seeks a special use permit for medical and wellness center spa at 116 East Steuben Street. The hearing will be held at the Municipal Building on Thursday December 7
th at 5:30 p.m.
