CMOG to Host 2018 Travel Conference
Corning Museum of Glass will host a major travel conference in September 2018. TBEX North America has chosen Corning as its main venue for its annual conference with hundreds of travel bloggers and other media professionals the week of September 11th-13th of next year. Officials and locals alike anticipate the event will bring business and exposure to the Gaffer District and Finger Lakes Region.

County Legislature to Meet About Bath Town Land Purchase
Steuben County lawmakers want to purchase some private property in the Town of Bath. When the Legislature meets Monday morning, it will vote on a proposal to purchase about 11 acres of land on County Road 15, Knight Settlement Road. The property is located adjacent to the county landfill. The county wants to maintain a buffer between the landfill and other property.

New Steuben County Historian Appointed
Emily Simms of Bath has been appointed by the County Manager as the Steuben County Historian. However, the title won’t become official until the county legislature confirms the appointment on Monday.

Governor Cuomo Makes Stance on Climate Change
Governor Andrew Cuomo has met with fellow American leaders to support efforts fighting global climate change. Cuomo met in his office with California Governor Jerry Brown and Governor of Washington Jay Inslee about the recently formed U.S. Climate Alliance. The group is composed of fifteen states and U.S. territories as well as mayors of several major American cities and other US leaders as an alliance to adopt the greenhouse gas reduction measures outlined in the Paris Climate Accord that was defiantly rejected by President Trump.

Estate Workshop Planned for October
An informational workshop called “The Estate Administration Survival Guide: The Probate Process,” will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Oct. 18 at the Dormann Library, 101 W. Morris St., Bath. The session is held for those who are named executor of a decedent’s estate to educate guests about the types of estate administration and, the legal steps that happen in every estate administration, taxes, and more. Wayland Woman Jailed for Stolen Property & Multiple Charges
A Wayland woman was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, resisting arrest and second-degree aggravated unlicensed vehicle operation. Sara G. Incarnato was charged Thursday upon being pulled over by State Police for traffic stop on South Main Street. Incarnato was found to have been the subject of another investigation in March 2017 in Hornellsville where she used another person’s name during a traffic stop. Police discovered the license plates on her vehicle which were reported stolen. For all charges, Incarnato was arraigned in Wayland Village Court and sent to Steuben County Jail on $10,000 cash bail.

Tomorrow's Bath Kiwanis Youth Soccer Game Cancelled
The Bath Kiwanis Youth Soccer has decided to cancel all games for Sunday. In a Facebook post, officials said “overly hot temperatures” in the weather forecast prompted the cancellation. Officials said safety will always be a top priority.
