Mssg From The Savona Fire Department, About Saturday

In Savona, Fire Chief Whitmore says that McCoy Street in the village on Saturday May 4th from 6am - 2pm during the village yard sale event.  McCoy Street will be closed from Main Street to Church Street and from Church Street to Orchard Street. The Savona fire chief also says, this will allow straight access for fire apparatus to leave the fire department during the yard sales.

 

Dormann Library Is Closing From May 1-6 For Construction

The Dormann Library in Bath will be closed May 1-6 while contractors work on desks and offices.  The library will be open on Tuesday, May 7, closed on May 8th for a previously scheduled staff training day, and then reopen on May 9.

 

Tipping Fee Increases At Landfill And The Transfer Stations

Tipping fees at the Steuben County landfill and its transfer stations will increase beginning July 1.   County officials said the fees have not been modified since 2022 and are required to cover rising costs at the landfill and transfer stations.  This will apply to private individuals, businesses, industry, commercial haulers and local political subdivisions within Steuben.
