Narcotics Arrest in Bath:
A Rochester man is facing drug charges following his arrest in the Village of Bath. 23-year-old Jahari Bush was arrested while Steuben County Probation officers were checking another individual. According to police, Bush was found to have a large amount of cash, a quantity of crack cocaine, and marihuana on his person. He was charged with criminal sale and criminal possession of a controlled substance. He was arraigned in Bath Village Court where bail was set at $5,000 cash.
NYSP Looking for Stolen Pickup:
The New York State Police are hoping to reunite a stolen pickup with its owner. The vehicle was stolen from a house on Beartown Road in the Town of Erwin. It’s a red 1996 Dodge pickup truck with a small dent on the driver’s side. It has two window stickers, one that says “bison” on the driver’s side, and one that says “peavey” on the passenger side. Anyone with information is asked to call the state police at (607) 962-6864.
“Shop with a Cop” Brings Early Christmas to Local Children:
Santa got an early start bringing some Christmas joy to local children with some help from the officers of the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office and Corning Police Department. Both departments recently held their annual “Shop with a Cop” event, which allows about a dozen children to have a shopping spree at no cost. The children are selected through the Student Resource Officer Program.
More than 300 Volunteers Lay Over 4,800 Wreaths During Event:
Saturday saw the annual recognition of our nation’s fallen servicemembers with Wreaths Across America, and here locally the turn out was something to behold. More than 4,800 wreaths were laid on Veterans’ graves at the Bath National Cemetery by more than 300 volunteers. The theme for this year was “be their witness” – to remember, honor, and teach about area service men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice to keep our country free and safe.
